Neural networks and social simulation
Spring, neural networks are blooming. According to my observations, they are used to generate content or to solve technical problems. I use them myself them myself, and I plan only to increase the volume.
I still have the habit of communicating with a neural network as if it were a human being. I ask it politely for something — "Please retell me the text briefly". Communicating — "Not quite what I expected, let's talk some more to clarify the request." Thanking — "Great result! Let's move on." I hope I get credit for this in the era between the machine uprising and the singularity.
But it's still such a great time when you can still distinguish between neural and human content, albeit with difficulty. That said, there is a lot of content coming from neural networks. This is noticeable, in particular, in linkedin and tg-channels.
There is such a concept — "uncanny valley", it was invented by roboticist Masahiro Mori in 1970. The idea is that the more an object resembles a person, the more emotions it evokes. If the object becomes too similar, but still not quite, it causes feelings of anxiety and discomfort. Roughly like the oddities with fingers and faces in images of early versions of neuronics. It feels unnatural and is called just uncanned valley.
Modern digital social spaces aren't there yet, but yes, the feeling of some posts and comments is similar — "something doesn't feel right here". If you look closely and think critically, you'll notice crooked editing or outright neural net self-publishing. Especially in the link — half of the feed is already full of such crap.
And this content is generated easily, quickly, and, most importantly, cheaply. Then similar bots-commentators fly to the content. And since it is economically profitable here and now, everything is just beginning. A natural evolution of all media and culture. Media turned first into yellow press and then into "expert opinions". Articles and analytics - into op-eds and opinions. The main thing is clickbait, likes, reposts. The main thing is traffic. Engagement rate and retention. Conversion funnels. And people (CA) want bread and entertainment (content). To stop it — you have to stop, but who would give up a competitive advantage in the here and now for some cultural perspective, we are not crazy, right?)
Neurons will text better and more. And we will get, inevitably, social spaces created and consumed by scripts. Bot authors, posts by neuroncats, comments by neuroncats. Social spaces will cease to be social — this is the new meta-sincerity and anti-humanism. Simulation of society, because it's impossible to delegate value creation to a non-human.
We'll get conversion course lendings for design and promotion courses, with neuron-optimized structure and texts. With feedback from neuronkey. With a financial model from neuronkey. With automatically generated videos and automatic task verification. And then they'll give you a neuron-drawn certificate.

We've already opened that door. To the internet, where there's no room for humans because it's too noisy and toxic. There will need to be a personal digital noisemaker. Or communicating in the digital environment will only be possible in person, which means it will have to be provided. Probably with passport access to the Internet, and there will be control and monetization of a different order. Taking into account de-globalization — division into local sovereign and not sovereign Internet.
But there is a plus — personal communication will return! We'll meet at Design Weekend or in the Workshop to discuss how life is going, what's new.
