28th issue of Digest

Issue 28 of the Digest is out of print!

The theme of the issue was Triumph. Once again I was convinced that the magazine has become even more prominent as we've introduced the theme of the issue. It allows us to not just to give the publisher's selection of events, places and heroes, but to pass it through the prism of reasoning and thought.

Triumph is the theme of the Victory, a military triumph. But also the triumph of the city, of life, of the individual. The triumph of architects and architects, artists and musicians. In this issue we wanted to consider triumph as a manifestation of human will and celebration — active, positive and life-affirming.

The second cover of the issue is designed for us by the awesome Vasily Biryukov — a perfect hit in the image of the magazine as a whole and the current theme. The combination of minimalism and art elements sets the mood of the magazine and, I think, becomes a distinctive feature of the Digest, which I am extremely happy about.

Niki's sculpture was photographed for us by Daniil Zherdev. Professionally and lightning fast he's captured the perfect sun in those total three seconds when clouds forgot to cover entire sky.

I designed the issue itself together with Vika Sibirtseva and Masha Druzhinina. The team changes for different issues, but I like the flexibility — each designer has his own view and approach to work, which is a strong andantage for the magazine. It brings the so much needed variation in the layout!
